2004 NCAA East Regionals

The University of Florida is estatic to host the NCAA East Regionals. Track and field began over half a century ago in 1939, thanks to the vision and creativeness of legendary track and field coach Percy Beard. Since that first meet 57 years ago, track and field has grown in epic proportions from the small regional competitions on April Fool's Day that featured 209 competitors, to hosting the nation's premier track and field meets.

This years regional will begin on Friday May 28 with field events starting at noon and preliminary running events beginning at 4pm. Favorites in this years field include the Florida Gators and South Carolina Gamecocks. This is the second year of regional qualifiers meets leading to the NCAA Championships to be held in Austin, TX on June 9-12. The top five in each event and top three in the relays will punch their ticket for an automatic berth and a trip to Austin.
